Goodbye Tomodachi Fest

Done by the amazing @misskuii ! Find her on Instagram right meow!

It's always sad to see the events that people enjoy go away. Tomodachi Fest had a decade long run--which is impressive considering the ups and downs it faced over the years. Date changes, financial problems, slow attendance, it faced it all in stride and showed time and time again how a small community would do almost anything to keep its Thanksgiving convention alive.

It was never a large show, and that was a good thing. After the stress of Thanksgiving and family drama, it gave me something to look forward to. A chance to reconnect with old friends, make some new ones, and indulge in our current obsessions. We made our own feasts off gas station hot dogs and questionable food choices. Best of all, we made memories.

It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of another convention season too! One last time for our community to bust out a new cosplay, take a dip in the pool, or overspend in the dealer's hall on plushies and pocky. One last time to meet voice actors you've admired or--my personal favorite--meet musicians like Mega Ran and enjoy a concert or rave.

In closing, I'd like to share some of my favorite photos from Tomodachi Fest during her final years. If you have a small convention in your area, I hope you give it a shot and attend!
